Using RSS Feeds
I have to admit, at the beginning of this exercise I thought it was going to be kinda pointless to do but as I acrewed all the sites I was going to use I started figuring out how long it took to get to each one of them and now with this new technology I don't have to search all over the web for the info that I need. I am sure I will use this a lot in the future to keep tabs on many of the things I am intrested in. This technology makes everything very simple, and if I were to keep this as my homepage, I would almost never need to leave my home screen, it is that awesome!

MonkeyOn-2nd Emergent Technology
The Communication software that I used for my 2nd Emerging technology was MonkeyOn. Monkey on is a software that sends email remainders to friends, and also to yourself about things that need to get accomplishe by a certain date. For people like me who seem to procrastinate unless there is a time table, this is a great software to use. Its true that you could just as easily send an email to a person to remind them. But I think this is a whole lot less informal than a email. Also the thing about an email is that once its sent theres no getting it back, so like if an event changes you have to go in a and write another email explaining why the date has changed. But if you use MonkeyOn you can "kill" a messge, which means to stop it before it gets to the recipient on a certain date.
For instance, if you were a teacher and you had your class using this account, and you had originally set your MonkeyOn to remind the students of a upcoming project in advance but wanted to push back the date because for needed to be covered in class for the students to be able to correctly complete the assignment, you could simply kill the assignment before it got sent to the student and the students will never know that you switched the dates, and that holds up your credibility, i think, more as a teacher.
How I used it for me was that I sent myself, my midterm sceduele this week, as well my work sceduele to my parents, who are always never hear me when I tell them. So now they have no excuse! I think this technology will help me become more organized and self-suffciant in the future.
